The Australian release of Avengers: Doomsday is 17 December 2026, versus 18 December in the United States. What is the MCU?
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a connected series of movies and shows. Characters and events can appear across several titles, so watching in a thoughtful order helps.
Do I need to read comics?
No. The films and shows tell stories you can follow on their own. The comics are a separate, enormous set of stories and inspirations.
Who are the Avengers?
A team of heroes who sometimes work together to confront threats too big for one person. You’ll meet the founding characters naturally as you watch.
What is a phase or saga?
Marvel uses phases to group releases and sagas for longer publishing eras. These are organising labels, not separate universes.
What does canon mean?
Canon means a story is treated as part of a particular continuity. Not all Marvel films or animated shows are part of exactly the same on-screen history.
What is the multiverse?
A storytelling idea in which different realities can exist. You do not need a physics lesson or an older film marathon before starting.
What is the difference between a first watch and completionist viewing?
The beginner path follows the main Marvel Studios films with selected series in their original release periods. The completionist option adds related stories from older film and television continuities, such as Blade, X-Men, the Sony Spider-Man films, Venom and earlier Fantastic Four films. They are separate optional extras, not films you must watch before Iron Man.
When can I mark VisionQuest completely watched?
The eight-episode season finishes according to Disney+ Australia's published schedule on 11 November 2026. Until then, track individual episodes and leave the overall season as Watching. A schedule is not a guarantee of regional availability; check Disney+ for the latest listing.
Do the old X-Men and Spider-Man films count?
They are worthwhile Marvel films from other screen continuities. This guide keeps them optional and clearly labelled instead of pretending they are the MCU’s first chapters.
Should I watch post-credit scenes?
Yes, for MCU films. Some contain extra jokes or previews. Watch them in the normal release order so a later story does not spoil an earlier one.
