Taubound and Moonflesh: the Eris field guide
Everything a new or returning Tenno needs to start the limited-time Operation, earn Moonflesh, understand the reward choices and avoid missing the 17 November deadline. Spoiler-light and source-checked.
How to get started
- Complete Vor's Prize. That is the event entry requirement. Ordinary Eris junction restrictions are lifted for eligible players during the event.
- Visit Eris in the Star Chart and look for active Operation missions and Tactical Alerts.
- Complete missions and defeat Infested to earn Moonflesh. Eligible mission completions, alerts and occasional enemy drops are separate sources of this currency.
- Find Praghasa in the special event location to exchange Moonflesh for available rewards and experience the evolving event dialogue.
- Redeem before the end. The published event window finishes 17 November 2026, with no rerun planned.
New players can take part without finishing the entire main quest line. Late-game narrative and Vessel material has different prerequisites; it isn't necessary for Moonflesh farming.
Start with accessible objectives
Finish Vor's Prize, select the available Eris activity, and prioritise mission types you can complete reliably. The event has temporary access rules specifically for newer Tenno.
Look at Tactical Alerts
Rotating Eris alerts offer an additional completion reward. Check the in-game event window before picking a route rather than relying on a static list of currently active alerts.
Compare Steel Path
Community event records describe different Steel Path fixed rewards. Balance the extra Moonflesh with actual run time and your squad's readiness.
How Moonflesh farming works
Digital Extremes confirms Eris mission completion rewards, occasional Infested enemy drops, and extra resources through rotating Tactical Alerts. These should not be confused with guaranteed enemy drops or permanent planet resources.
The community-maintained Warframe Wiki currently records 50 Moonflesh for completing a normal event alert and 75 on Steel Path. These exact values are from a community reference, not the shorter official announcement, so review them after updates. Its Moonflesh entry also warns that various looting abilities and drop-affecting boosters do not increase the special drops as they might for ordinary resources.

Which rewards should you investigate?
There is no single correct shopping order. Digital Extremes lists the Contegorus Armor Set, Vacis Amp Skin, Dhampyre Syandana, event glyphs, Floofs, a Legendary Core, a Basmu Blueprint, Spectra Vandal, Tauforged Archon Shards and several Arcanes among the rewards.
Collectors may prefer limited-time cosmetics; players working on a build may prefer gear or upgrade materials. Check the in-game trader for costs and restrictions. This guide deliberately does not invent total farming times, purchase limits or guaranteed rewards.
Don't confuse Taubound with the Tau Prologue
Taubound: the temporary Eris event ending 17 November. Prologue to Tau: a separate, permanent Codex quest, requiring The Hex and The Old Peace. Those two quests are not required to farm Moonflesh.
The planned Warframe: Tau update is coming in December 2026. The new Fornax and Perita playable zones are upcoming, and should not be treated as live Origin System mission nodes today. Detailed content is subject to launch changes.
Before you log off
- Check current event alerts and any new Praghasa dialogue.
- Spend Moonflesh on the rewards you actually want before the event closes.
- Use the Eris atlas view to compare curated mission objectives.
- Remember that the permanent Prologue quest can be completed later.
