What Steam’s most-played chart tells us — and what it cannot
A dated concurrency snapshot, with the limits that matter when comparing games and reading popularity claims.
Counter-Strike 2 led Steam's Current Players table in our captured snapshot. Dota 2 and AION 2 followed. These are simultaneous Steam users, not total owners, sales or an all-platform ranking.
| Rank | Steam listing | Concurrent players |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Counter-Strike 2 | 1,024,230 |
| 2 | Dota 2 | 617,098 |
| 3 | AION 2 | 224,097 |
| 7 | Call of Duty® | 156,265 |
| 8 | Cyberpunk 2077 | 139,954 |

Current players and a daily peak answer different questions. Adding several games' peaks does not establish the number online at one moment. The shared Call of Duty Steam application must not be presented as Modern Warfare 4 alone. Console players and other PC stores are outside this table.
Is a snapshot a trend?
No. It records activity at one time and helps select topics to investigate. Claims of growth need comparable observations across a defined period. This page preserves its capture time; it is not a live counter. Open Valve's source for current figures.
