Borderlands 4 Boss Blitz: 500,000 boss kills, four weapon skins and The Horns Twitch Drop

Gearbox's November community challenge runs through 15 November. Here's how to help reach the shared boss-kill target, what rewards are conditional and how to claim the separate Twitch Drop.

Gearbox and 2K are running a shared Borderlands 4 Boss Blitz challenge from 6 to 15 November 2026. The goal is for the community—not each individual player—to record 500,000 boss kills while using one of the four original Vault Hunters: Vex, Amon, Rafa or Harlowe. A qualifying community total unlocks a SHiFT code for four themed weapon skins. Separately, watching an eligible Borderlands 4 Twitch stream during The Hunt can unlock The Horns cosmetic. These are two different reward routes with different requirements.

Boss Blitz: what counts and what is conditional?

The publisher’s 6 November announcement sets a community goal of 500,000 boss kills with the four base-game Vault Hunters between 6 and 15 November. Players contribute to the wider total through normal play. It is not a personal target of 500,000 kills, nor are four separate 500,000-kill thresholds described.

The promised reward is conditional. If the community reaches the shared goal, Gearbox says it will publish a SHiFT code for the four weapon skins. A code mentioned in a guide before that announcement would be speculation. Check the publisher’s official channels for the actual milestone outcome and redemption instructions.

The four announced weapon skins

  • Troubled Upbringing: themed around Vex.
  • Fresh Spray: themed around Rafa.
  • Tally Them All: themed around Amon.
  • Merch Line: themed around Harlowe.

Gearbox says these weapon skins can be applied to guns and used by all Vault Hunters. Their visual inspiration does not restrict use to the character named beside them. The publisher’s reward terms require Borderlands 4, a SHiFT account and an internet connection; the issued code, if unlocked, is limited to one redemption per SHiFT account and must be redeemed by 31 December 2030 under the announced terms. That deadline does not make the November boss-kill event itself permanent.

How to contribute without overcomplicating the event

  1. Play Borderlands 4 with Vex, Amon, Rafa or Harlowe during the event period.
  2. Defeat bosses while playing. A sensible session is one built around bosses you can already reach, rather than an unverified “fastest farm” claimed in a clip.
  3. Remember that the target is communal. A single player’s progress does not have to reach the community milestone on its own.
  4. Watch the official Boss Blitz news for confirmation of success and for a legitimate SHiFT code; do not use codes circulated without a traceable publisher post.
  5. If a code is released, redeem it through the SHiFT service tied to the account you use in-game and confirm the reward in your game. Account connections and entitlement timing may vary.

The Horns: a separate Twitch viewing reward

The separate announcement for The Hunt describes a Borderlands 4 Twitch Drop: watch an eligible Twitch Drops-enabled stream for at least 30 minutes between 6 and 15 November to unlock The Horns, a Vault Hunter Head usable by all Vault Hunters.

First link the correct SHiFT, Twitch and gameplay-platform accounts, and make sure you are logged into the linked Twitch account while watching an eligible stream. Gearbox says to claim the Twitch reward within 24 hours. Merely viewing any video or joining a non-enabled stream is not equivalent to completing the publisher’s Twitch Drop conditions.

Boss Blitz, The Hunt and donations are not interchangeable

The Hunt is also a community fundraising initiative, involving scavenger-hunt play across Borderlands games and support for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Boss Blitz target measures community boss kills specifically in Borderlands 4 with the listed Vault Hunters. The Horns reward is a separate watch-time/account-link programme. Keep these activities distinct when deciding how to participate; do not assume that a donation, a boss kill or a Twitch watch substitutes for the requirements of another activity.

What’s in the separate 5–12 November weekly rotation?

After finishing the campaign, open the Map tab in ECHO for the featured activities. Gearbox lists The Battle Wagon as the Big Encore boss and One Slimy Issue as the Wildcard mission. The Wildcard reward is the Bloody Lumberjack, a Daedalus assault rifle. The publisher links a visual clue for Maurice’s vending machine. The location is shared, while each player’s stock can differ.

What still needs confirmation?

At the time of this 7 November check, the shared Boss Blitz milestone outcome and its potential SHiFT reward code had not been established by the cited starting announcement. It would be misleading to print an unverified code or describe all four skins as already delivered. Rewards, eligible streams and account links should be checked against official channels as the 15 November end approaches.
