Destiny 2 hotfix 9.7.0.6: a Bright Dust correction, not a new weapon balance pass
Bungie's October 20 update fixes an unintended Eververse cosmetic unlock; the October 7 update addressed a reward and XP abuse exploit.

Destiny 2's 20 October Update 9.7.0.6 corrects an Eververse Bright Dust purchase issue. Certain purchases could unintentionally unlock additional cosmetics. Bungie's short official note says the error has been fixed, but does not list every affected item or establish new refund rules.
And the previous October fix?
Update 9.7.0.5 on 7 October addressed a back-end exploit allowing malicious accounts to send other players unearned rewards and XP. Bungie said deliberate abusers were being actioned and players who had not sought the exploit would not be punished. This was an anti-cheat repair, not a universal XP increase.
Why no new weapons meta?
Bungie described June 9's enormous 9.7.0 patch as Destiny 2's final major update while reserving the option of later maintenance and stability fixes. Its weapon buffs and nerfs belong to that earlier patch; they are not October 20 changes. Don't mistake an old damage table for breaking news.
