Magic × Star Trek prerelease: 6–12 November dates, sealed kit, events and Australian planning
Wizards confirms November prerelease and release dates; here's the actual six-pack kit, 40-card sealed format and what to check with Australian WPN stores.

Wizards of the Coast confirms Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek prerelease events from 6–12 November 2026 and the general set release on 13 November. Australian store schedules, price and seating vary, so no local event is confirmed booked by this article.
Exactly what a prerelease kit contains
The official kit contains six Play Boosters, one traditional-foil promo, one deck box, and one spindown die. Build a 40-card sealed deck from the opened cards and any number of basic lands. It is a relaxed way to explore a brand-new set without bringing a powerful constructed deck.
What to do before attending
- Use the official Wizards Store & Event Locator to find a participating WPN store around Ipswich or Brisbane.
- Check each event's advertised AEST start, entry fee, capacity, and whether packs are provided by the venue.
- Bring sleeves, a deck box, a charged phone if needed for Companion, and enough time for multiple rounds.
- Ask about beginner support; 40-card sealed is different from Commander and Standard.
Beginner strategy from Wizards’ newest 30 October guide
Wizards’ official prerelease guide highlights three draft archetypes worth watching: black-green graveyard recursion (Archaeology), red-white board pressure and combined creature power of eight or more (Command), and green-blue Strange New Worlds lands with different names. In sealed, prioritise a coherent two-colour deck, enough creatures and an achievable mana curve rather than forcing a colour pair only because one rare card looks spectacular. Read the publisher’s current strategy examples.
Asia-Pacific shipping delays: check your exact product
Wizards separately announced that in Asia-Pacific, Collector Boosters, Omega Collector Boosters, Bundles, Beam Me Up Bundles and Draft Night may arrive after the 13 November tabletop release because of distribution delays. The same notice says Play Boosters and Prerelease Packs are expected on schedule. A physical item you see in a US opening video may not yet be available in an Australian store. Official regional delay notice.
And after prerelease?
Wizards schedules Magic Academy and Standard Showdown from 13 November to 28 January 2027, Commander Party sessions on 20–26 November and 15–21 January, and additional special events. Store participation and promo supply depend on the organiser. Don't advertise a locally available promo without direct store confirmation.
