MW4 DMZ's Hajin map: every location and its threat level
Thirteen points of interest, from a Low-threat wharf to an Extreme bunker under an air base. Here is where each one sits and what it asks of a squad.
Hajin is not one map with one difficulty. It is a border region split into points of interest, each with its own threat rating, its own architecture and its own reason to be dangerous. The rating appears under your compass as you enter an area, and it describes the expected enemy response rather than a guarantee. Human players are not included in it.
Activision's Tour of Duty guide names thirteen major locations across North and South Hajin. This is the practical version: where each one is, how dangerous it is, and what it is actually for.
The threat scale
Threat runs from Low to Extreme. Low areas still contain enemies, but they are manageable and forgiving of a mistake. High and Critical areas are fortified, and Extreme means the game expects a coordinated squad with gear. Entering a High area loudly is a choice, not an accident: stealth eliminations with melee weapons, throwing knives or suppressed shots are the intended way to avoid triggering a response.

North Hajin: the fortified border
14th Political Prison sits on a deforested plateau in the northwest, surrounded by shacks, farming hamlets and coniferous woodland. It is a concrete detention complex with watchtowers on every corner, a polluted river to the west, a main entrance and checkpoint to the south, and barracks to the east. The prison yard and the Fortress Prison Yard are High; the Citadel at its centre is Critical. The Y-shaped fortress inside the yard is the objective most squads come for, and the approach is exposed from several directions.
Chang-san Air Base is the hardest location on the map. The surface base is built into a granite hillside, and the underground bunker complex is larger than the surface footprint. The exterior is Critical and the bunker is Extreme. The topography is the real threat: narrow approaches, vertical cover and a long way out once you are inside. Treat it as a squad objective with a planned extraction, not a loot run.
Deadtown is the opposite. The deserted agricultural township in the southwest has a Low exterior and a Medium Re-Education Center. Toxic-tainted rivers flank it, and a sewer system runs beneath the buildings. It is one of the best early looting areas on the map: plenty of buildings, manageable enemies and several routes out.
South Hajin: farmland, village and hospital
Imjin Farmland is a floodplain along the southwestern border, with exposed rice fields, waterways and scattered farms. The exterior and Jeong Loading Dock are Low; the Rice Mill is Medium. Open ground makes it easy to spot enemies and easy to be spotted, so move between cover rather than across the fields.
Cheongun Village is the northernmost point previously controlled by South Korea, bordering the Hajin River. Most of it is Low, including the Russian Border Crossing and the outskirts. The exception is the Heavenly Luck Casino, which is High. It is a useful early area with one very expensive mistake in the middle of it.
Mirae General Hospital is Low threat and centrally located, next to a train station and close to The Grid and NuriGO Mall. That convenience cuts both ways: it is a good place to find medical supplies, and a good place for other players to expect you to be.
Central and northeast: infrastructure
Cheonwang Peak Array is the largest telecommunications array in Hajin, on a flat summit surrounded by wilderness and granite boulders. It is Medium threat. The trails between the boulders are the approach, which makes the fight vertical and close.
Haneul Nuclear Reactor is High threat with severe radiation across the complex. The South Korean border zone around it is Medium. Radiation changes the maths: even a successful fight can end with a depleted health bar, so bring medical supplies and plan a short route.
NuriGO Mall is a mixed-use shopping district in the northeast of the city, with tenement blocks along its western edge near the hospital. The east side is Medium and the west is High. It is dense, vertical and full of interiors, which makes it good for loot and bad for tracking how many enemies are nearby.
The city: The Grid and its neighbours
The Grid is the centre of the map and the centre of its danger. A steel-plated wall of razor wire runs across multiple city blocks. The Grid itself is Critical, the Nenshin Tech Complex is Extreme, and the DBN Headquarters, Hanex Bank, Minsok Art School and Construction Zone are all Critical. This is where high-value loot and high-level PvP overlap. Do not enter without armour, a squad and an exit plan.
Songdo Wharf runs from the nuclear power station in the north to the south fork of the Hajin River, with the expressway as its western edge. The wharf, Oamsik Turtle Island and Shoreline Station are all Low. It is one of the safest places to learn the map, with water routes that most players ignore.
Wolves Stadium sits in the south central city, marked by the Baseball Stadium B Station and a partly destroyed luxury apartment block. The stadium and theatre are Medium. The elevated monorail is the landmark and the sightline.
Hajin River Heights is southeast of the stadium: residential apartments, narrow store-lined streets, South Island and the Jinseo Park Towers. Everything there is Medium. It is a good mid-game area: dangerous enough to have loot, quiet enough to leave.
Getting around
Hajin has ground vehicles, rail transit, watercraft and aircraft. Every vehicle has finite armour and fuel and can be repaired and refuelled at a gas station. Unlike Warzone, DMZ vehicles need that maintenance, so a stolen car is a temporary tool rather than a permanent base. Some Traits improve vehicle handling, including the ability to repair a blown tyre after exiting.
For solo players, water and rail are underused routes. For squads, a ground vehicle is a mobile resupply point until it takes too much fire. Either way, do not drive into a High-threat compound and expect the vehicle to survive the fight.
How to choose a drop
Deploy into a Low area at the edge of the map, work inward, and extract before the backpack is full. That is the reliable loop. Move to Medium when you have armour and a Medkit. Treat High and Extreme as objectives with a specific reward, not as places to wander into.
The threat rating is a guide, not a guarantee. It does not account for the squad that landed in the same village, and it does not stop a Wanted player from following you to extraction. The map tells you how dangerous the AI will be. The rest is judgement.
