Steam Deck Verified is a starting point. Read the compatibility details next.
What Valve’s four badges mean, why a 90Hz OLED screen is not a frame-rate promise, and what to check for the games you actually play.

A handheld is only useful if it suits your library. Steam Deck’s compatibility badge answers a narrower question than “Is this a good game?”: how well does this particular title fit Valve’s portable PC?
Four badges, four different decisions
Verified means Valve considers the game ready out of the box. Playable means some manual intervention may be needed, such as using the touchscreen for a launcher. Unsupported means it is not currently functional on Deck. Unknown means Valve has not checked it; that is not the same verdict as Unsupported.
Open the individual compatibility notes rather than stopping at the badge. Valve checks controls, readable text and display support, launcher behaviour, and system support—including middleware and anti-cheat when Proton is involved. Its review programme is ongoing, so the current game page is more useful than an old screenshot of a badge.
OLED improves the display, not the meaning of Verified
Valve lists a 7.4-inch HDR OLED display at 1280×800, with refresh rates up to 90Hz. A panel’s maximum refresh rate describes what it can display; it does not promise that every game will render 90 frames each second. Valve says compatibility ratings apply across LCD and OLED Decks.
The OLED specification lists a 50Wh battery and an estimated three to twelve hours of gameplay, explicitly depending on content. Treat that as a manufacturer range rather than a fixed travel-time guarantee for a demanding game.
