Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5: where returning players should start
Clampdown, dual-wielding and the limits of cross-platform mods: a practical route into the October 22 update.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Edgerunners 2 Update is a week old, rather than a new October 30 release. If you are returning now, start by checking your installed version and keeping an untouched save before experimenting with mods.
Start with Clampdown
CD Projekt RED’s October 21 notes say Clampdown becomes available after The Heist and two Wakako gigs; her message starts the next step. The quest includes King-inspired gear. The separate Welcome to Paradise quest requires The Heist and Street Cred 15, while scanning a new Minor Arcana card begins the additional tarot hunt.
That gives returning players two useful checks before assuming a quest is broken: story progress and the specific unlock requirement. It also makes a more focused first session than chasing every new marker at once. This is a guide to the published requirements, not a tested walkthrough of the quest.
Dual-wielding and a different look
Double Trouble in the Cool tree enables paired Power-category pistols and revolvers. It is not a promise that every handgun works. Glamdocs customise equipped arm cyberware; new outfits, hairstyles and HKGN 102.0 FM provide other reasons to revisit the city.
Cross-platform mods have limits
The in-game mod.io selection is curated in scope, not access to every PC mod. Console modded saves disable achievements and trophies. Keep a clean save if those matter to you.
Read each mod’s own compatibility information before installing it. A feature shared across platforms does not make every mod, dependency or existing save interchangeable. Avoid importing a long mod list into a returning playthrough before you know which change caused a problem.
Check your platform before changing settings
The October 22 launch post lists PC, Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2. Earlier notes described staggered Mac App Store and Switch 2 delivery. The notes also list DLSS 4.5, MetalFX interpolation, HDR and ray-tracing improvements; hardware support varies.
These are developer claims, not our benchmarks. Use our settings explainer to separate image quality from responsiveness. Change one option at a time, and judge the result on your own display rather than treating a new technology label as an automatic improvement.
