Halloween gaming sales in Australia: Steam Scream V, PS Store and dates worth checking

Steam's 26 October–2 November horror event and PlayStation's October 21–November 4 offers, with a practical Australian deal-checking guide.

In this article
  1. Steam Scream V (26 October–2 November)
  2. PlayStation Store (21 October–4 November)
  3. Five quick deal checks

As of 31 October 2026 AEST, two major digital storefront promotions overlap—but advertised percentages aren't proof that a game is genuinely cheapest today. Check your actual Australian checkout price, platform, edition and expiry before buying.

Steam Scream V (26 October–2 November)

Valve's official Steamworks calendar lists 26 October through 2 November 2026 for Steam Scream V, focusing on horror titles and Halloween-centric games. The event includes discounted eligible games, demos and unreleased titles showcased in Coming Soon sections. Seeing a game promoted does not guarantee that it is discounted.

Browse Steam, search the game's price history using SteamDB, then compare Standard and Deluxe editions before checkout. Avoid buying a bundle when you already own items in it.

PlayStation Store (21 October–4 November)

PlayStation's official October 21 Planet of the Deals promotion runs through 4 November, with regional finish times and game selection differing. An Australian third-party snapshot also lists a Halloween store promotion in this window. Open the Australian PlayStation Store and check the exact listing's local countdown and edition; don't infer that US prices or every Halloween game applies in Australia.

Five quick deal checks

  1. Compare the exact standard/deluxe/upgrade SKU, not just cover art.
  2. Check the historical lowest Australian price and DLC requirements.
  3. Watch for subscription-access games you already have through PS Plus, Game Pass or another library.
  4. Check return policies before downloading or launching, especially for digital stores.
  5. Keep release schedules separate from discounts: a future date isn't confirmation of a sale.

Prices and store stock move faster than editorial articles. We intentionally avoid quoting an unsourced '90% off this game right now' price without a dated, verified AUD storefront listing. Also see GameOnCue's Halloween seasonal guide and Steam refund guide.
