Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Dual Fusion changes the cards—and the pack-opening routine

Dual-type Pokémon arrive in the mobile game, while a separate weekly pack system gives collectors another date to watch.

Pokémon TCG Pocket is taking its second-anniversary collection in two directions: cards with two types, and a new kind of pack that follows its own schedule. The distinction matters if your daily routine is opening boosters and planning which collection to build next.

Two types on one card

The Pokémon Company’s 20 October announcement set 29 October as Dual Fusion’s starting date. Its examples include Mega Mewtwo X ex with Psychic and Fighting types, and Mega Greninja ex with Water and Dark types. These are digital Pocket cards; the announcement does not turn them into a physical expansion for the tabletop TCG.

A different clock for special packs

Special Pack: First Partners is listed for 31 October–26 December. It uses separate special-pack stamina that refills weekly, rather than the regular booster system. The publisher promises one ★ card in each special pack, with artwork featuring first partners from the nine regions. That specific guarantee should not be confused with a promise of any particular Pokémon or a universal pull rate.

Keep the two collections separate

Pocket’s official site describes two regular booster openings per day at no cost, digital-only artwork and optional purchases. A weekly special pack is a separate collecting decision, not a replacement for checking what each regular pack contains. For physical cards, our Delta Reign guide covers a different product entirely.

The dates above are the publisher’s announcement dates, not confirmed Brisbane reset hours. Check the in-app notice before spending resources around a deadline.
