Reporting cutoff: Sunday 1 November 2026, 11:35 pm Queensland AEST. Fortnite Treasure Hunters is available following the v43.00 update: Epic's official maintenance history confirms the scheduled downtime was completed at 08:12 UTC on 1 November, or 6:12 pm AEST. The new Battle Royale season brings the One Piece crossover, an 80-player island and evolving visiting captains. Epic's 30 October season announcement details the content. This is sourced launch coverage, not a claim that GameOnCue personally tested the live update or that every individual platform is incident-free.

Australian release time versus the first Captain's Day

The release and the first scheduled event are different milestones. Epic's status page records v43.00 maintenance beginning 05:00 UTC (3 pm Queensland) and completing 08:12 UTC (6:12 pm Queensland) on Sunday 1 November. By the 11:35 pm AEST reporting cutoff, the maintenance had finished. Epic separately lists the first Captain's Day for 1 November at 9 am US Eastern Time; because US daylight saving ended early that morning, the announced event time converts to Monday 2 November at midnight AEST. Calling midnight the season's initial launch time would incorrectly ignore Epic's earlier completed update. Individual users may still experience platform-specific login/download issues.

Crossbones Isle: what is actually confirmed

The new Crossbones Isle is an 80-player island, Epic says, with One Piece points of interest including Arlong Park and Windmill Village. Launchable cannons provide a traversal option; the $.$. Rocky is a battleship point of interest with A$AP Rocky's Shock Rocket. These are named publisher locations and mechanics—not coordinates, a complete interactive map or a guarantee about every building's loot.

Epic also confirms Luffy's Gum-Gum Fruit and Zoro's Three Sword Style as powers players can use. The announcement teases Captain X's mega chest but does not publish an exact chest spawn, key requirement, rarity table or guaranteed drop probability. Avoid early "best chest route" maps that show precise pins without a source or real gameplay evidence.

Battle Pass, shop and weekly updates

Epic identifies Portgas D. Ace and Nico Robin as Battle Pass characters alongside new anime versions of Jonesy, Cuddle Team Leader and Charlotte. Gifting the pass to a friend offers both players a Dark Kawaii Team Leader Outfit style, subject to the actual in-game gifting process and eligibility. This does not mean every One Piece character is unlocked by the pass.

Luffy, Nami and Usopp are advertised for the Item Shop at season launch. Epic additionally lists Zoro, Sanji and the Chopper Sidekick for 7 November, Lil Uzi Vert for 12 November, Buggy for 13 November, and Kasane Teto with Cap'n Hatsune Miku for 14 November, with US-local dates unless an hour is explicitly attached. Shop prices and Australian-dollar conversion are not established by this announcement. Mastery Mondays and Treasure Hours Sundays are also planned, with changing bonuses such as a captain's weapon at match start and boosted drops; exact rules should be checked in-game.

What to do as you enter the new season

  1. Check the installed build and official status first. Epic marked maintenance complete at 6:12 pm AEST, but individual platform downloads and account services can vary.
  2. Learn the named POIs before copying a route. Cannons and the battleship may change how you rotate, but no verified optimum landing route exists in this pre-release report.
  3. Check pass versus shop before spending. Ace and Robin are announced for the pass; other characters have different shop dates.
  4. Watch for later Captain's Days. Epic has already named four additional November US dates, but has not given precise Australian activation hours.
  5. Don't book a December 5 Queensland session yet. Epic teases a Chapter 7 end event on that US date without a published hour; the AEST day may differ.

What's still unverified: individual platform availability and connection stability, exact map coordinates, loot rates, weapon balancing, regional shop prices, live player counts and final end-event time. We will only add those details if they can be attributed to a dated first-party note or clearly labelled in-game evidence. Read our earlier Fortnitemares coverage for the previous event; it is not a substitute for the new season's mechanics.
